St. Paul Lutheran Church—WELS

Schedule of Services

Worship Service - Sunday, 9:00 a.m.

In our worship services, we praise God for sending His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for all of our sins by His death on the cross.  We also hear readings from God’s Word and a sermon to apply the Word of God to us in our daily lives.  Holy Communion is celebrated twice a month.  Since we believe this sacrament is a testimony to our oneness of faith, it is reserved for those in confessional fellowship with us (close communion).

Bible Class—Sunday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Following our worship service, we offer adults further opportunity to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord.  Our Bible classes are based on books of the Bible or Biblical topics.  We use a worksheet format with questions to lead us through the Bible study and discuss how that particular Word of God applies to our lives.

Sunday School—Sunday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

For our children preschool up to 8th grade we offer Sunday school at the same time as our Bible class.  Our teachers guide the students through Bible history lessons (7th and 8th grades also tackle some challenging moral or ethical questions) to show them God’s plan of salvation for them, so that our children can grow up knowing how precious they are as redeemed children of God.

Knights for Christ (Teens) - Sunday, 10:30 a.m.

Between their busy schedules, our teens manage to gather together for Christian education, volunteer activities, or just plain fun!  On a recent activity they carpooled to Lincolnshire for some glow-in-the-dark mini-golf, followed by a Bible study led by Pastor, and a lock-in at the church.  During part of the night they kept busy making sub sandwiches for various members for Super Bowl Sunday.  They love to meet new people. Guests are always welcome!

Catechism—Monday, 6:30 pm

During 7th and 8th grade, our students go through an intensive study of Luther’s catechism in preparation to become confirmed members of the church. At the end of their 8th grade year confirmation takes place, and these new members take communion for the first time.

Dorcas—Tuesday, 9 am (Bible Study @ 10 am)

This sewing and quilting group, made up mostly of retired ladies, meets for about 2 1/2 hours every week. Part of their time is spent in Bible study sessions that include special prayers. Right now they've been having fun hearing about the background to notable hymns. When they're not studying about the background to the various seasons of the church year, they will be discussing what the Bible says about the Church, Mission, and Ministry. Guests are welcome!
